The self cleaning runs a lot quieter and more efficient. The new feature for a 20 second quick wash is great (rather than going through a whole clean and dry cycle). The new feature to adjust the closeness of the blade via the "+" and "-" buttons are a nice touch. The LED display on the end of the handle is a nice touch. It's easy to read. Another nice small improvement is the travel case. The 790 cc comes with an nice black durable zipper travel case. This works well for cutting the hair on the neck area or stubborn hairs that the regular foil systems can leave behind.

Braun Series 7 790cc Pulsonic very comfortable and its pivoting head gets into all the nooks and crannies.
The cleaning and lubrication system work well, It's fairly quiet and even cuts the hair that lays flat on your face. The Slap on some Lectric Shave just before using the shaver and your face will be baby butt smooth.

The shaver comes with a travel case (unfortunately, the case does not accommodate the charging cord), a cleaning and charging base (the cleaning fluid is apparently no more than 40% "rubbing" alcohol, perhaps with a small amount of lubricant? meaning Braun is taking the H-P printer path, , a two year warranty (extended a year with credit card), cleaning brush (one can opt to clean with brush and water and some detergents, but they caution you not to brush the foil screen itself) and has what appears to be a durable, robust build.

Best of all is the shave performance. This is where in my opinion the 790cc really blew away the other shavers I tried. Not only did it give the closest shave of all of them, it was also by far the most comfortable shave. There was never any irritation and the head remained cool throughout the shave. The pulsoic action, while very gimmicky sounding, seems effective in getting the trouble hairs to get cut, those hairs that are near impossible to shave due to them being flat laying.
